[MasudaxTegoshi] Dance
I know, I know, I said I wouldn't update. But yeah, just typed this up and wanted to post it. Because, y'know. I miss TegoMass :3

Title: Dance
Pairing: Masuda x Tegoshi
Rating: G
Disclaimer: They belong to Johnny's and NEWS. Go be sad.

Tegoshi didn't really know when he had started liking dance. Back in school, it used to be a foreign object, a thing only girls did. Even when he had entered Johnny's, his dance skills (or the lack thereof) didn't matter, as they were compensated for by his flawless voice. And as long as he remained cute, even the fans didn't object (much).

But then came along Masuda Takahisa. The boy with that sunny smile, the omnipresent smile, and a real talent for dance. It wasn't just the way he moved though, was it? Was it the way he jumped and moved about, the way his slim body and arms worked together, in rythm as well as in style, the way that he panted, his mouth half-open, sweat glistening on his face? Or was it that ever-lasting enthusiasm and determination? That love, that thirst for dance? Tegoshi didn't know what it was. Truth be told, he didn't care. He just loved to see Masuda dance. Observe those tiny lips curve into a smile and his foot tap as the beats wafted through, and that tiny sigh of relief as he let all his worries free themselves of him.

It was then then that Tegoshi started becoming conscious. Conscious of the way he danced, making a fool of himself, especially, when Masuda came by to watch. Tegoshi would curse himself for hours afterwards, wishing he could dance. Wishing for something that would somehow automatically turn him into a good, nay, "awesome" dancer.

But as he chided himself, he realized that wishing wasn't really going to work. And so he started to practise.

Yes, Tegoshi Yuya, the boy who couldn't dance, started dancing.

It was tricky, though, for he didn't really know what to do. Being too proud to take professional dancing lessons or anything of the sort, he decided to teach himself the basics. But it was quite difficult, and neither the internet print-outs nor the various DIY books were of much help.

It was that very day, Tegoshi remembered, just a month after their hiatus. He had been in one of the practice rooms at the Johnny's building, trying to decide what step to do. He remembered one of the steps the Johnny's Juniors had been practising the other day. And well, he told himself, why not?

It was quite a difficult step, hard to manouevre, and the next thing he knew, he was flat on the floor. He heard a sudden burst of laughter, and surprised, he looked up. It was Masuda. Nursing his butt nervously, he managed to utter, "What's so funny?"

Tegoshi felt humiliated like never before. It was as if everything had come down crashing on him. Masuda's laugh had decided his fate. Tegoshi was embarassed, defeated, crushed, and he really wanted to sink into the ground.

"You need a teacher, you know, if you want to learn how to dance." Masuda replied, shaking his head as he offered a hand to Tegoshi. "You just need some help, and in no time you'll be quite a pro at it."

What was that? Tegoshi couldn't believe what he had heard. "So...so you d-don't think I'm a loser?" Tegoshi was stunned. Masuda was a wonderful dancer, so why would he even imagine helping a hopeless case like himself?

Masuda laughed a sweet, short laugh. "Now why would I think that?" He was smiling at Tegoshi. "Do you want me to teach you?"

Tegoshi wouldn't have said no, even in his worst nightmares. And the case was settled.

And so, from that moment on, under the guidance of a wise teacher, Tegoshi actually started learning the basics of dance. Starting from that very moment, Tegoshi started liking dance.

Although that part about becoming a pro? Now that's what we call a distant dream.

This drabble is basically based on RL, but the little piece of info, that Masuda had given Tegoshi dancing lessons during their hiatus also helped. NOW I MUST GO BACK TO MY HIATUS.
