"Oh no!"
Tegoshi was almost out of the school when he realized that he had forgotten his chemistry book. He didn't really want it back, but he had to start studying for the test scheduled to be a few days later. He sighed wearily, and made his way back.
Kicking the half-closed door of his class open, he made his way to his desk. The book was lying on the desk, half open. Someone must've opened it, Tegoshi mused, and proceeded to close it and stuff it in his bag.
"Mmm..." Tegoshi started, his eyes darting wildly for the interruption. That was sudden. He stood there for a while, a blank look on his face as he searched for the mystery person. There was no one.
His mind cursing imaginary green crickets, he slung the bag over his shoulder and turned to leave.
"Hm-" It was a bit louder this time, and certainly didn't sound like a noisy cricket. The voice was human, probably someone moaning. For help? Intrigued, Tegoshi moved to the back of the class from where, he was sure of it, the sounds had emanated. A little bit scared, he edged over to the seat in the corner of the room, farthest away from the teacher's desk, and peeked.
Masuda Takahisa.
Tegoshi knew him, had seen him before, and admired him a lot. Masuda wasn't really special in any way, and Tegoshi didn't know him much.
But he had seen him that day as he walked on the pavement. He was singing a beautiful song in his gentle voice. The lyrics had been depressing, but the way Masuda sang it just made it sound so happy. Tegoshi had been hooked.
And before he knew it, he had started singing that song too, everyday; like an anthem. He'd been singing it that evening, as he walked back from school. And then, as he entered the chorus, he'd heard that voice joining him, singing with him. Tegoshi had looked back and found a smiling Masuda. His embarassment melted into happiness and he smiled back, and they sang the whole song together. The routine followed everyday for the rest of the year, until they graduated.
Tegoshi never saw Masuda again, because they weren't in the same class anymore. At least he thought so. He wasn't really sure; Tegoshi never paid attention to anything in class, always in a world of his own. Not that anyone ever cared, Tegoshi was free to do as he liked.
So seeing Masuda like this scared Tegoshi.
Masuda's arms were sprawled out on the table, his face leaning against them as he snored gently. So this was the noise that had been pestering Tegoshi. He seemed to be in deep sleep, Tegoshi felt, the peaceful look on his face asserting his state. Tegoshi gazed somewhat bashfully, observing the features etched out on Masuda's beautiful face; the messy, ruffled hair which tickled his nose; the soft arms, the strong muscles, the -
Tegoshi mentally slapped himself. He shouldn't be thinking such things. Instead, he decided to wake up Masuda.
Streching out his hand nervously, he shook Masuda's arms. Masua grunted, alarming Tegoshi who withdrew his hand violently.
Masuda didn't wake up. Tegoshi laughed at his own nervous state, and at the sleeping beauty, mustering up some courage as he leaned closer.
He looked quite cute like this, Tegoshi thought. His hand moved unconsciously to touch Masuda's cheek. Soft and warm, he sighed, rubbing the cheek somewhat gingerly. His other hand cupped Masuda's other cheek, feeling the delicate skin.
It felt good, so good... Tegoshi was losing himself, not that he regretted it. He didn't mind it at all, and Masuda was asleep, so he didn't really care either. And before he knew it, he drew himself closer to Masuda, and their lips touched. Tegoshi kissed Masuda.
Tegoshi immediately realized what he was doing, and tried to pull away, but a hand stopped him, holding his arm firmly. It was Masuda. Masuda was kissing him back, slowly, tenderly.
A mixture of emotions took hold of Tegoshi, his mind whirling in confusion. He was shocked, nervous, scared --- and happy? It wasn't happiness exactly, but more of a combination of pleasure and contentment. This was the first time that somebody had accepted his feelings.
Tegoshi kissed him again, the sweet sensation filling his body with warmth. It was a bit awkward and uncomfortable, and Masuda stood up, holding both of Tegoshi's hands in his own. They broke off, broke away from the kiss.
Tegoshi blushed and lowered his eyes as they met Masuda's.
"Do you like me?" Masuda's inquisitive voice, hardly able to conceal the excitement, shattered the silence.
The air stood still for Tegoshi. He didn't really know what to say, because he felt the question was unnecessary.
He finally nodded, raising his eyes timidly. Masuda's face registered a look of amusement as a wide smile spread on his face, and he squeezed Tegoshi's hands.
"Me too! Ever since that day..." Leaving the rest of his sentence rightfully incomplete, he laughed, his face lighting up. The laughter proved to be infectious, and Tegoshi started laughing too, although he couldn't really point out what was so funny. But everything - everything just happened so suddenly, and he hadn't seen Masuda for so long, or even ever admitted to himself that he had a crush on Masuda, and Masuda had just been sleeping calmly on his desk, and for god's sake, he had just come to get his stupid chemistry book.
And now he was with Masuda, laughing, and his mind wondered vaguely about everything else before brushing it off. It was silly anyway, he grinned as their laughter subsided, and Masuda leaned closer, kissing his lips once more, his hand never leaving their hold as he pushed Tegoshi to the wall.
Tegoshi would forever remember this day.
Although he did wonder, had Masuda really been sleeping?

What the-? x.X; I had SOMETHING ELSE in mind while writing this ficlet to get the sudden urge of schoolboystegomass out of my head --- 8O. A bit rushed, because I wrote all of this in one go (as if that's not the case for most of my "fanfiction" anyway)...*flees* workkk~
